I heard this story years ago and again from time to time. Deb Wilson knew the Brinks. The Brinks new about some drug dealing going on in Holland and were going to go to the police. They were killed. Deb Wilson found out how the Brinks were killed and was going to go to the police but was killed before she could. I have heard that this story was investigated and discredited but who knows for sure. There is nothing anywhere I can find on the net about either of these murders. It would be nice if someone would reopen these cases and solve them.

I have a lovedone being ABUSED(whenever the guards are looking for some way to pacify their perverted behaviors or it’s time for a report to be written, for they FALSIFY the reports on the patients there, at Chester Mental Health Center, in Chester, Illinois.
I am currently(after requesting a meeting for a month now), waiting for a date to be set, to meet with the administrators there.
CMHC, is another facility(as MERRILVILLE Mental Hospital, where patients were raped and abused in other ways), that is NOT, beign INVESTIGATED properly!
As long as I can remember, any time, a person is assaulted, they have the right, to prosecute the culprit, but CHESTER POLICE DEPARTMENT, does NOT, adhere, to this law, because the patients are in a MAXIMUM Mental facility, which is where my brother has been on the list for 3 years, to be transferred OUT, according to nurse LYNN HUBERT.
The munipulation of ABUSE that goes on there, is as HORRIFFIC, as the ABUSE against the patients there.
I have PHOTOS of injuries and PROOF, of my brother, being RAPED, YET, I’m in the process, of suing the lawyer, who has NEGLECTED handling his case, causing I to sue him for BREACH of contract.

Everyday I look out at the Grand River and I remember the call we received in 2001. We lived in East Grand Rapids at the time and had a family that we were very close with. Allison Burns was brutally murdered and it seems that no one seemed to care–she was ‘slow’, ‘disabled’–it was not a pretty story. We now live on Monroe and I look out at and/or walk the Grand River often–always wondering exactly where she was found, why has there been no justice, how could there not have been ‘evidence’? It was so bitter cold–it hurts me to think how she must have suffered so and it hurts to know that this is one of many ‘unsolved’ cases. I am thankful that I found your website–her murder haunts me–it was so senseless and cruel. SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW SOMETHING! Thank you for the time to vent–I would love to work with others to help bring closure for Allison.

I sit just now looking out on the Grand, a majestic canvas in its wintery chill, frozen for the most part in its slow reaches. But underneath, the water is flowing inexorably.
I am trying to verify details of Deb Wilson’s Murder. Is there a newspaper article I can find or someone can send me about this case? Was the murder weapon found? Was there any DNA evidence collected? I also want to confirm that this case was reopened. Has any new connections been found? I want to help bring closure for Deb and her family.

The case has never been closed, so it’s very open. I know it’s being worked…actively. In terms of newspaper articles, check out our listing of the case at We Remember and you will be able to read from the Holland Sentinel. I am not sure about the weapon or DNA, but the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department contacts are listed there. And if you have any information they’d very much appreciate it.
I am curious as to why the Brinks murders are not posted on this site. It seems there are many or maybe even all of the unsolved murder cases in Michigan listed on here. So why is it the Brinks murder has never been posted? The only information that was ever released about that case was right after Ricky and Gail Brinks were found shot to death. But then it was as if the case was shut. There were no plea`s for any information from the public nor were there any releases of anything about their murder,, why?

With as many of these cases as possible we contact the families. In the case of the Brink family I am still waiting to hear if they are willing for me to post this. Families trump everything. The entry is written and ready and I am waiting. This case is still very much under investigation. Detective Bob Donker of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is now the lead on this case.
Hi! I have been glued to your site for days…researching the stories, watching interviews, and reading reports. I just wanted to touch-base here in your forum to tell you how much I have enjoyed your work and to inquire as to whether you are continuing your research? I think that the manner in which you have everything organized and your thorough/detailed inquiries into the many facets of each story is to be applauded. I would truly love to see more posted to each investigation as it becomes available and/or new investigations into other unsolved crimes. However, I do appreciate the time/expense that must go into each of your endeavors! I live in metro-Detroit. I am a teacher who truly wanted to study to become a lawyer (prosecutor)…so your site is particularly interesting to me. I have seen other sites dealing with crime, however none are as all-inclusive, organized, nor as interesting as your site (and hardly worth contacting the owner about). In closing, I hope you will continue your research and that you know there are many “out here” that enjoy and value your hard work. Just so so uninteresting! I had a great family and great life until I was murdered in Vicksburg, Michigan in 1983. Everyone who lived in Vicksburg at that time knows who killed me, including the police. Over the years they have tried to get enough evidence to convict him, but because of the cowardice of witnesses and the complicity of the killer’s parents–he still roams free. When I found out I could still access Facebook from the other side, I checked out my murderer’s profile. I was shocked to find out that there are many people from Vicksburg who are Facebook “friends” with a killer. Some of these people are seemingly normal people who I thought knew better and who you wouldn’t think would want to be friends with an evil person.
But I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they really don’t know the whole story. The reasons are many why the police reclassified the case from a hit-and-run to a homicide. The autopsy showed that I had rope burns and that I had been dragged. Other evidence showed that He Who Must Not Be Named had done this on purpose after a fight with me. He then left my body like roadkill in a ditch in front of my home. My Father found me when he went out early in the morning to get the Sunday paper. (Those who have children can just imagine.)
He Who Must Not Be Named confessed to a third party that he had done this, but the police still needed more evidence. His parents had destroyed and covered up the evidence. The Kalamazoo Cold Case homicide team was still investigating the murder as recently as 2003, but then they were soon thereafter disbanded due to budget cuts. Silent Observer still lists my case on their homepage as an unsolved homicide. They had always hoped that eyewitness Weepy Barbie (who dared to come to my funeral and sob in front of my family as I was lowered into the earth) would come forward, especially after they offered her full immunity. They thought that since she had children of her own now, she might understand why a mother would want justice for her son’s killer. But Weepy Barbie is just as evil and cowardly as He Who Must Not Be Named . .
There are other eyewitnesses as well, and it would only take one to put the killer in jail and the rest of the eyewitnesses in jail as accomplices. Who will be first?
An eyewitness to a murder is always better off with the killer in jail, rather than having the killer walk free knowing that only a few people stand between him and getting away with it for the rest of his time on Earth. Wouldn’t you rather have him locked up?
One more thing: I noticed on his profile that He Who Must Not Be Named is apparently involved with the 12- Step program. He obviously is a liar in this regard also. He most certainly has not confessed his wrongdoings in their entirety and absolutely has not made any amends to my family for what he did. So anyone involved with him and his 12 step program should know that he is an unrepentant murderer.
He’s also “likes” Eternal Life on FB. But apparently he doesn’t like it too much.
P.S. I have peace in my heart now and am with God. The one comfort to me and my family is that after death, God will judge He Who Must Not Be Named if the humans on Earth are too cowardly to do it.
please help the Cross family solve this case so they can find closer and justice.

A recent news article appeared on WWMT out of Kalamazoo and it covered how friends and family are using technology to keep my case alive and on everyones mind.The police arestill investigating this case and I believe you would be exactly what they are missing to get “Justice for Erik” please help!

Please as you read the last two posted comments for November 20, 2010, please hear us as a small community and friends stretching nationwide plea and pray for help and justice in the case of Erik Cross..MURDERED in 1983 in Vicksburg, Michigan. His killers and witnesses still walk this earth today..have their own families and obviously have no remorse, no guilt and no FEAR or ever being caught. It has been 27 years..the case is still on going…we have had recent coverage on WWMT out of Kalamazoo and we are encouraging people with information to reach out the Silent Observer, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff Dept, etc…
You can help the Cross Family finally have some closure. Please help! Thank you for your time.

My cousin, Margaret Heuser (Sumners), disappeared from Bitely, MI in Newaygo county back in July 2004. We know she was murdered by her boyfriend at the time. It’s just a matter of proving it. Since her body was never found, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Dept would not listen to a word we had to say. The ex-boyfriend has since vanished but his parents live in Texas so I’m pretty sure that’s where he is. I know his friend “Rebel” knows exactly what happened to her and where she was dumped. They were both part of a group people there called the “Bitely Boys” which means plenty of people know what happened. It’s just a matter of getting someone to talk.
When she first vanished, I was putting up missing person’s posters all over the area of Newaygo and Lake counties until the Sheriff’s told me to stop and they were all taken down.
It’s been 7 years and at this point, he’s gotten away with her murder. We just want her home to put her to rest with her Mother and soon to be her Aunt (my Mother) who is terminally ill with cancer. Is there any way you can just look into her cold case? Even if nothing can be done, knowing it was looked at one more time will make us feel a little better.

Local news just reported that Ryan Mark Wyngarden has been arrested on Open Murder charges for the murders of Gail and Rick Brink in November 1987 in Park Township (Holland, MI). He is the brother of victim Gail Brink. I’m so glad to hear this – I remember when this happened as I was just a couple years younger than Gail and had just moved to Holland with my fiance (now husband) earlier that same month.
This is a reminder: “The jury trial is scheduled for Oct. 22 – Nov. 6 before 20th Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing in Grand Haven.”

I grew up with murder victim MaryAnn Behringer (unsure of last name spelling) in Fowlerville, MI. I can’t find anything about the murder. Her killer was a minor. This happened in 1974 or 1975. I would like to find out the real story. Please contact me if anyone knows anything about it. Thank you.

I was a year older than Mary Ann’s killer in Fowlerville. I can tell you what I remember. He lived a few houses away from her. Rumor was he spent just a few years custody because he was only 15 at the time of the murder. It was in 1974 and he wasn’t arrested for over a year. How can I contact you?

Hello. My name is Jeni and I live in Reed City, Michigan. I recently wrote about an unsolved homicide case locally, that of Janette Roberson. While I was working on that book, I came across a few others that are still unsolved, and one of them was the case of a real estate agent lured to a remote property under the guise of being a prospective buyer. This is the homicide of Sue Clason. At the time, she worked for a real estate agency in Cadillac, Michigan. I’ve since gotten a list of possibly similar cases resulting from an FBI FOIA, as well as what I was able to get of her MSP report. While I cull through these and research which ones have since been solved or attributed to another killer, I wanted to cast a net here to see if anyone knows of any unsolved cases involving home sellers or realtors. This does appear to be random, the killer was prepared and fairly bold, so I think there is certainly the possibility he’d killed before and could have killed since. I have a few unsolved cases with similar MO to check out in other states, and I’m awaiting FOIA requests, but if anyone knows of any cold cases (this goes back to 1984) that fit the description, please give me a nudge. Thanks in advance!

He was from Twin Lake, Muskegon County Michigan.
This is ia a cold case unsolved open homicide investigation.
He was to have a custody case the following week to get the custody of his kids. Ex wives boyfriend said that would would not happen.
He would now be 36 years old now. He now has 6 children without a father and so many loved ones looking for answers . Many searches of the area all point to bad outcome.If anybody has any information that could help solve this please contact the Silent Observers @ 231-72-CRIME .
