Sgt. John Robinson film interview
Sgt. John Robinson was the first officer on the scene following the murder of Shelley Speet Mills on Sept 15, 1970. He sat at a red light on his motorcycle only two houses away when the call came in. His first responsibility was to secure the crime scene, something he did by locking himself in the apartment and allowing no one to enter until the crime scene investigators arrived. He stayed with the body all the way through the autopsy. John filed his report and went back to his other duties and it wasn’t until he rose through the ranks that he was again able to pursue the case. Eventually, he become head of what’s now called the Major Case Team and he kept this case actively investigated. He is one in the series of officers who has tried to bring justice.
He tells his story in an interview above, but he SHOWS us what and where it happened immediately below.
